Carbon Fibre Bands

I've been repairing a clarinet with cracks around the throat and, after a lengthy discussion with the owner, decided to put a couple of carbon fibre bands around it. This technique can be used instead of the old method of pinning cracks. A grove is cut around the body of the instrument on the lathe and this is filled with the carbon fibre which pulls the body together and epoxy glue which dries very hard and provides a good strong bond.
